Has anyone here, living with asthma or copd, tried drinking Mullein tea daily and taking black seed oil daily? It seems to have really helped shift mucus on my chest and therefore helped my breathing considerably. Mucus and crackling sounds when I exhaled we’re always a problem and always used to block my airways and cause my tight chest. I was on seretide 250 two puffs a day and spiriva respimat once a day. I now only use the seretide once and no spiriva. I also haven’t had ventolin for over 5 months now.
Has anyone tried Mullein tea daily and black seed oil? It has really worked for me.

I have “severe, difficult to treat, allergic asthma”and numerous allergies. I’ve suffered countless extreme rhinitis and severe seasonal and environmental and chemical and food allergies, for as long as I can remember. I’ve been on all the meds you mention and then some. And mega doses of prednisone when nothing else workedHave you had blood tests done to see if you qualify for an immunologic?
For many many years I was a noncompliant patient - preferring only herbal/Ayurvedic/holistic remedies and modalities (Mullein tea and black seed oil (which we refer to as Kalonji oil) are two of many herbal supplements I’ve taken during flares, as Ive always taken an integrative approach to healing. But my condition was so serious that in the end I would always require pharmaceuticals.
I’m on Nucala now. 15 months and counting. It’s been life altering. I’m 49 years young. Suffered asthma symptoms my whole life. As far back as I can recall. But never bad enough to have me taken to a hosptial in my childhood (or so my family believed). I was never officially diagnosed until my mid to late 20s. Suffered my first critical episode requiring emergency hospital care at the age of 27. I’ve had many, many ER and urgent care visits, and many, many maximal critical-at-home treatments under outpatient close carr (about 1-3 months per flare, 1-2 episodes per year. Along with debilitating autoimmune disorders. Asthma stole my life from me. And I’m finally taking it back. I finally feel like I have a chance at really living. Went swimming a month ago for the first time in 20’ years. Please, please, please talk to your doctor about immunomodulator treatments. I was told a decade ago and I was hesitant due to fear of side effects. I lost half my hair on the first immunomodulator, Xolair, which is a rare side effect (so I asked to be checked for an alternative. I immediately tested, qualified for Nucala, pulmonologist submitted for an authorization to my insurance, got approved (as my case is severe enough that it could’ve taken my life, and I’ve been on it ever since). I typically don’t live with regrets, but getting on Nucala a decade later than I could have, this is one decision I wish was I could go back in time and do differently. Best of luck to you.
Also consider investing in Himalayan salt inhalers for daily use and a membership to a salt spa, where you can sit in the salt room/salt caves and breath in the salt air, perhaps even participate in yoga ans pranayam (yogic breath work ) inside these healing spaces. I went for the first time today. Met a lifelong asthmatic there, a member of the salt spa (which I liken to a Himilayan Salt Haven or Heaven). She is off all her meds and hasn’t had a flare ever since she became a regular of this place.
Sadly, yes. I am on Medi-Cal, as I’m not working, So thankfully my meds are all covered. Plus I have a pulmonologist who goes to bat for me with my insurance group.I will likely be applying for Disability. It’s an travesty and and an injustice that these companies profit so exorbitantly off of life saving meds. Meds that won’t be covered by all insurances.
Wow! Your condition really humbles my slight weaze and cough. You’ve really investigated this. I’ve been told about the salt spas actually and it sounds amazing! I might look into a salt nebuliser that you mentioned first. Glad to hear you’re now on top of your condition. Take care
