My partner is taking them as well. They told him 6 weeks before they'll work. And in the first 6 weeks the side effects can be quite bad. And it should be working after 6 weeks. They work well for him but he suffers insomnia ever since he started taking them.
Hi there my experience with my meds took 3 weeks to start helping me I am on fluroxitine have been for years .I thought I was doing great so took a break for 3 months and had a major relapse what ever is in the fluoxetine works for me .I do feel anxious through the day still but better than been laid up in bed with vomiting and diareah for 5 days .that's the way my body heals itself if I relapse. Body says enough it's time to heal and rest which is not fun at all.hope you feel better soon
i take them sti for about 3 months now i found mine to work abit after a month i had panic and anxiety attacks everyday up until then and could barely leave the house now i can do just about anything they work great for me
That's still a relatively short period Roo - the fact you are feeling better PM is encouraging - early days but you are on track (I've been on citalopram 20 for 15 years)
Hasnt slowed me down at all Roo - its a critical part of the recovery process, I find ! Just a few beers and an occasional glass of wine for me. Good luck matey - you're well on the way back π
