Anyone get this? It’s been driving me crazy. I’m panicking and I hate it. Anyone? Thinking about my breathing almost 24-7. For months now.

Weird that you mention that right this instant, as I was about to make a post about the same thing coz it’s driving me nuts. I’ve always made an effort to “distract” myself when dealing with hyper-sensitive feelings such as conscious breathing or heart palpitations. Mind if I ask what you feel that exactly that makes you “panic” because for me I sometimes get an odd breath where it feels like the air is taken out of me nd it’s bloody terrifying but seems to go away the majority of the time when I’m at home or extremely relaxed, the expection is when alcohol involved and for a whole day after I’m feeling symptoms across the day regardless of how relaxed I feel... btw I’m not a doctor or anything I’ve just dealt with this bs for like years now I do with various symptoms coming and going, mainly heart head or breathing related and hearing other people’s experience is helping me to understand why I feel the way i do, as its fucking annoying... like really really annoying

Hey Rayano, yeah it’s sucks bc I’m like an owl on high alert. The feeling I get is just super anxious, nervous and jittery. And then I hyperventilate at times, tightness around the throat. And then I try to hold my breath to see “if” I’ll really stop breathing but then my body is like nah I need air lol. Like I feel I can’t go anywhere by myself bc of this. Why am I thinking about it soo much? Geez. I can deal with the other self diagnoses I tend to do 🙄, but this is the worse. I took sleeping gummies to help me get some rest and it really tranquilized me but I kept fighting it so I just watched some YouTube bs or read up on some posts on here. Eventually I got to fall asleep. And then waking up I’m not as nervous but it IS set in the back of my mind that I’ll be thinking about my breathing later or at some point. I gotta figure this out-

Do you work? Or have hobbies and activities? Mind if I ask what? So personally I have that too, when I wake up is usually when my breathing is at its best and I think it’s because once the body gets to sleep and rests, your not conscious of the breathing anymore so it functions normally, giving your breathing a “chance to recover and reset it’s rhythm” if you will... once i wake up, my mind gradually pulls itself towards correctly breathing again which is when the symptoms start showing... its tell-tale of anxiety but I can never just tell myself that, the breathing probs and all that ALWAYS go away when I can feel safe and relaxed (at home playing games or equivalent, or a 10-20 min break for a cup of tea at work) , once I feel relaxed and “reset” my breathing it sometimes makes me feel better for hours later. I also find staying off the drink and going for not too strenuous jogs for 20-30 mins 3 or so times a week actually really really does help, I don’t force myself to do something though coz it can sometimes make it worse, I’ll msg again gotta get to flight eeeek

Yeah I do but from home now. Doing what I love versus commuting and being miserable at my desk lol. This was never my obsession and I do try to keep myself busy esp trying to attempt a newer lifestyle since I’m not happy with my health and weight so I’m constantly researching for stuff to self improve but more of mental health since it’ll go hand in hand. Yeah I’m waking up nowadays wanting to hit the gym or just get active again so that’s a good sign and I know I love the tired/sore feeling from working out so I’m getting back to that. Lol no worries, thanks for relying. Here anytime!

I suck at easing people’s minds but I hope I did something for you, I just want to learn what I can about what it is my body is doing and what triggers it to do those shitty things and perhaps it’s because I haven’t fully convinced myself that it’s only anxiety yet despite multiple reassurances from the doctors over the years.

But once I work out how to efficiently get rid of these feelings (I know it’s possible because the do fairly often go when I get a weekend off to chill and don’t binge) I really just want other people in my situation to know that it’s all okay, because fuck it woulda been cool to have known some more caring and understanding people with good knowledge of anxiety when I was at my worst... I can’t stand how it’s dominated my life for so long despite my efforts to bridge out and I’m adamant that I’m going to overcome it, as I’m a big traveller and being able to be away somewhere foreign and be able to enjoy it without having panic attacks is incredibly important to me.

Apologies for too much detail it wasn’t nessessary but likewise if you have more to share or just want to ask something don’t hesitate to msg thanks
