Im having an anxiety flare up It feels like im very jumpy and on edge. My hearing is heightened and I feel like I can hear everything a mile away, and I keep having the irrational thoughts of "what if someone if were to attack me right now, jump out of the bathroom..etc" and these super extreme what ifs. It drives me mad, because I just over analyze it all and then causes me to panic, and feel disconnected and overwhelmed. Does anyone have any advice?
TIA
*hugs*

After my 1st panic attack ( & my last) many years ago, I was jumpy for many months later. It was like I was experiencing after shocks. It sounds like thats what you're experiencing. My dr prescribed klonopin. And it helped so much.
Im not under any additional stress, but normally I exercise and meditate and I haven't done much lately because of snow and it being so cold I kinda go in to hibernation mode. I do have a therapist Ive been seeing for years. Sometimes I think it doesn't help me much. lol Thanks a lot!
Hello cattywamp
Sorry to read you are going through one of these panic attacks , it is like the fear we are feeling already the anxiety is finding more to fear by giving you these irrational thoughts , which deep down that is what they are even though they feel very real when we are having them
Can you go and check your rooms so your anxiety can see there is nothing there , then take yourself to you favourite place in the house , I have a chair I like the best , and try and do some breathing exercises or take yourself somewhere in your mind like a warm country , sandy beach , blue waves and imagine you are there till this passes , I know not easy when you are going through this but it can work
It will pass soon , know that whatever sort of panic attack we are having it reaches as far as it can go and then the only place it can go after is back down until it has left us again
