Driving myself crazy with health anxiety.

I feel like I am going to die younger than I should. Right now I'm having off and on pains in my leg and I'm afraid of it being deep vein thrombosis. The reason I feel I could have gotten a clot or clots is because I've had a bad depression episode for 3 months and just stayed in bed, and the other reason is because I never drink water and I'm dehydrated. I'm scared and don't know what to think or do. Please help? I've been up for almost 24 hours because the anxiety is so bad this time. Thank you.

Hello

I am sorry to hear you are suffering so much & as well as depression which is a debilitating illness you have anxiety which can be another one as well , there is no wonder you feel like like you do but slowly with help & support things will get better

You have said you have been in bed & that no doubt this will have helped to contribute to your legs hurting , a good way to test if the circulation is going round ok is to just press on the skin where it hurts you will see is goes whitish & then as you let go & slowly count to 10 at the most it should come back to it's normal color & that is a good sign you have ok circulation , please however if you do this & you don't feel it comes back to it;s normal color don't go in a panic because that does not mean anything is bad either

Try & just walk a little even if to the bottom of the garden or up & down stairs , I know when having anxiety & depression & we are low we just don't feel like it but sometimes we have to just push ourselves a little & make it a goal every day as well as drinking fluids which our bodies do need , try & drink up to at least 6 glasses of water a day , more would be even better

Are you getting any support with your condition ?

I do hope so as it sounds like you need it , please make an appointment to see your doctor so you can tell them how bad you are feeling & what is worrying you & why , they will help to reassure you x

Hi, thank you so much for your help and comfort. Sometimes, I put myself in a real bad panic. I guess it has to do with some stuff that happened to me about 13 years ago when I had my son. I had a emergency cesarean and the doctor unknowingly nicked my colon and long story short, I ended up with sepsis, a temporary colostomy bag, a four month hospital stay and about 30 hours worth of surgery during that time. About 3 years after that I had to have a incisional hernia repaired. I guess ever since all that happened, I have been really aware of my body. I was only 17 when it happened. Every day I have pain that stems from that because of scar tissue/adhesions and such. And I just had a cancer scare that I ended up getting a endometrial biopsy for. And just before that I had a neck mass that no doctor could tell me what it was or what caused it.

It just seems like I am always in pain and I'm just so tired of worrying, so tired of the "what if?". I am married, have been for 10 years and he tries to be understanding but he never really has ever had any medical problems and doesn't really understand how I feel that much. But he does try. Like tonight, I was going to have him take me to the nearest ER but he ended up stopping at a massage place and said that if I don't feel any better after a hour massage, he would still take me. So yes, I do have some support. My mother tries to but ends up making me more anxious! Lol :) anyways, I will be sure to drink more and I did that test on my leg and the color came back pretty quickly. Maybe me having sciatica problems can cause the pains and feeling like it's asleep? I have pretty progressed scoliosis too. You can just look at my back and see it. Thank you again, for you time and your concern. Bless you! xoxo
