Fresh picked leaves for today’s salad and dinner. Sorrel, chives, rocket and tender new Swiss chard for the salad. Different kinds of kale for the stir fry 😋

Those chives look nice and fat... thin chives annoy me. Enjoy your crop MeTeeCee.

Thank you. They seem to have done well this year. Lots of tasty flowers too.

Chive flowers are very attractive. I think i would find it hard to choose between putting them in a salad or putting them in a vase.

Excellent. To eat what you grow. Work rewarded.

I used to hate salads, back when I was low fat. I would try to choke down a salad when I had to, dressed in a splash of vinegar. I would enjoy a bite of a leaf, but the whole pile would be an anathema to me.

But now I let myself it fat, I look at that a mentally add mayonnaise or a rich vinaigrette, and my mouth is watering. Added advantage, the fat soluble vitamins will actually be absorbed if fatty dressing is included.

Enjoy!

I totally agree. I make my own mustard vinaigrette and it’s darn tasty 😋 on a mixed salad.

Looks lovely! I am trying to grow sorrel but it’s not looking very happy at the moment!

I grew it for the first time last year and it did well. I think I should have grown it again from seed this year too, because it’s not as abundant this time and is intent on making seed.

Looks fabulous. I'm looking for to cutting my first lot of lettuce today. I like a simple dressing of good quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

I’m just experimenting with some lettuce this year. It’s looking quite promising but I don’t think mine will be ready for cutting for quite a while yet. You’ve done well to start harvesting some already.
