Hi ya

I have been on keto diet for 2.5 weeks

I lost 8lb first week and stayed the same last week.

I have been aiming at 20g carbs a day sometimes going over. I struggle with my fats and mist of the time go over on protein.

My sister did my blood Ketosis this morning and it’s 0.7 says I’m in nutritional Ketosis does any one know what that means and am I doing it write?

I haven’t had bread crisps cakes biscuits potatoes since starting.

Any help greatly received...

Carbs soon add up a slice of bread will be 20 grams. And although I don’t count carbs in vegetables they are there, I don’t eat fruit either. Yogurt has 5 grams of carbs. It might be a good idea to write down all your foods and count how many carbs. I aim between 5 and 10 each day.

I don’t lose a lot of weight either, unfortunately I think that is how it is for some of us. I don’t have a lot of weight to lose, so maybe this is why.

As for protein, I think it will be hard to eat too much, check your daily protein requirements for your weight.

Initially I lost most of my excess weight before I knew about LCHF, but what it has done for me is kept my weight stable. Keeping weight off has probably been my biggest problem 😀. I was constantly hungry before now I can go all day without food and still not feel hungry. This has been the biggest achievement for me on Lchf.

I don’t know anything about measuring ketones, I know some do and they may reply. Or you could search for past posts.

I hope you get the results you want, but don’t forget it took a long time to gain weight so you are not going to lose it in a few weeks. also LCHF is not a diet it’s about making food choices. The right ones😀😀

Sounds like your right on track. Download carb manager to track your carbs. Its really easy to use. Im also following keto too. Ive cut out all high carb food such as bread, potatoes and rice. I only eat vegetables grown above ground. I eat a lot of egg and spinach and meat. Coffee with full fat cream and i fry all my food in butter. If i have a salad its smothered in mayonnaise. I keep to 20g carbs or below and in the 1st week i lost 8lbs and I've kept a steady weight loss of 2lbs per week since and so far i have lost 11lbs. So dont worry if the weight loss slows down you will soon start to see the results x
