Tummy Rumbles

I read that when your body is burning fat effectively you can skip any number of meals and not really notice. When I have fasted for 16 hours my tummy rumbles like an erupting volcano so I guess I'm not quite there yet!?!! 🤔🤷‍♀️

Are you hungry though?

If it's just noise, I wouldn't worry as I have read that fasting does make louder rumbles because an empty tube can make more noise than a full one, and peristalsis occurs all the time anyway.

I do feel hungry but I don’t know if that’s because I’m conditioned to. I may be able to stave it off with water or green tea!

Don't force it - it'll happen by itself. Although some people swear by it, I don't think there's anything magical about "fasting". Yes, it might help you lose weight faster ... but so what? Just learning to eat healthy, filling meals will get you where you want to be.

I read that it's good for your body, cell renewal etc so thought I'd give it a try, see if I can actually do it! I need all the help I can get 😂

You do feel hungry. If we didn't, our ancestors would have starved to death. Who wants to go to all that effort of hunting an gathering when you aren't even peckish? But the hunger is in waves: you feel hungry, you power through and the hunger dissipates. The advantage you get with fasting is - even while you are hungry - your body is doing fine eating off your fat.

When I was younger, and fully carbbed, I would occasionally skip breakfast and lunch. I would feel fine, not driven by hunger - much as I do now. But the difference was back then I would, while not feeling hungry, faint or at least need to sit down. That doesn't happen now.

I'm really surprised to find that I can not eat until lunchtime at 1pm relatively easily and yesterday when I got in from work I had to take my daughter somewhere so we didn't eat until quite late and it was fine. I've always been an eat every couple of hours person and thought I would struggle with this far more than I am. It's quite liberating! 😊 I would never have attempted it without the advice I've had on here so thank you all.
