New to Keto

Hello all,

I’m very new to Keto and have never attempted it before but I desperately need the lifestyle change. At the end of the day (my day 2) is this okay for my macros (which I don’t really understand).

I’ll be on 22g of total carbs from taking off the fibre? Fibre was 15g.

That’s right isn’t it?

Keep going for a week and see how you feel ... if you want a bit of help try some of the posts here:

healthunlocked.com/lchf-die...

Scroll down the lot ... some of the earlier ones are more "technical" then the personal stories!

Good luck!

Welcome to the group :) Your macros look spot-on, but in reality you don't need to pay much attention to them. If you've got lots of non-starchy vegetables, some good-quality meat/eggs/daily products, and a bit of added fat where appropriate, you'll be fine. Try to focus on getting good food onto your plate rather than looking at numbers. It'll all become second nature very quickly.

Have a look at the visual guides here - they're really helpful:

dietdoctor.com/low-carb/vis...

By the way, there's nothing wrong with measuring your calories if you're curious - it can be instructive to see how your appetite falls as you proceed through weightloss - but under no circumstances attempt to limit your food. Eat until you are full. I've noticed that many people really struggle with this concept because we've been told so often that we have to "control our portions". It's nonsense. Your appetite will rapidly re-learn what the correct amount of food should be, but you have to give it a chance to do that.

All you need to concentrate on your carb total. Keep it under 50g but if possible 20g or under. Dietdoctor.com is offering a 2 week free meal plan you recieve email everyday with each daily meal plan. They are amazing for help when 1st starting out. Take a look x

I'm 3 weeks in and just concentrating on keeping my carbs low, not counting anything else really, lots of above ground veg, meat/chicken/cheese/eggs/cream.... Eating plenty, my go to is Bacon/leek and Cauliflower soup, fried in butter, add couple litres of stock and boil then blitz, it's delicious
