Anyone has used alternate mediactaion for ITP in children
In the UK ITP isn't usually treated in young children unless there is bleeding. If your child has bleeding symptoms then they need traditional medication. Alternative treatments and diets don't work.
hi, I am from Latvia. Please ask to check stomach, Bacterias in stomach. Sometimes acidic medium cause it. And stay in prayings. GOD bless and heal your child!
Hi Godly, I agree with Campdenagirl that in the UK young children usually not treated unless bleeding is happening or there are good grounds for fearing that it could such as in intracranial bleeding. At a very low count of 3 they will want to get it into safer values so will use high doses of a steroid for as shorter time as possible and perhaps with IViG infusion. After that no further treatment hopefully.
In young children it is usually acute going in 6 months or less but alternative medicines are not recommended for young children. There is not much convincing evidence that they work anyway but a slight change in the usual diet could be effective.
I feel diet is important with itp,it might not cure it,but due to the effect on the immune system, its important to give young kids plenty of greens, ive been giving my 4yr old extra veg and protein to keep his immune system well built up especially during this time of year and thank god he has had no bad coughs r flus, plus the honey in morn with porridge,i feel it can do no harm,i read diet was important in one of itp websites
