Hi I have been on Revolade for 2 months and have had symptoms of nausea and diarrhea constantly. Has anybody else had this.

I was given Eltrombopag, and was okay for about a month, before the diarrhoea started in good earnest. It became extreme (8 times during the day and another 3 or 4 during the night) so I stopped taking it! After a couple of weeks (to recover my equanimity) I was started on Romiplostim, and have had no problems with it. Perhaps you could ask to try Romiplostim?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I am seeing the consultant next week I will ask about the Romiplostin. Hopefully it may help me.

Good luck! 🤞 Btw, I asked to be taught how to inject myself (which minimises hospital visits). Perhaps you might like to consider that?

That sounds like a good solution. Do you mind me asking how long have you had ITP? I have had it for 17 years and it was always responsive to steroids. Things changed last October I was on 60mg steroid when platelets suddenly dropped dangerously low and spontaneous bleeding began. Eltrombopag then given. Like you the first month I had minimal symptoms. Will speak to my consultant. Once again many thanks for getting back to me.

I've been diagnosed for about six and a half years, but I'm pretty sure I had itp about a year before it was discovered (after a blood test for cholesterol!). The consultant allowed me to stay on 'watch and wait' until my platelets went down to single figures, and I was lucky enough to go straight onto TPOs because of covid making steroids a bad idea. I do hope you are offered Romiplostim, and that it works well for you 🙂

Hi. I have been taking Revolade for some time and i gotta say that the Information sheet is bigger than a map of the world. For me the problem was back ache for a week. Which had me worried only for a week. Problematic, but certainly not as bad as yours.

I would check to see what it says on the information sheet to see how bad its supposed to be. Then get in touch with your consultant for advice as soon as possible.

I’m sorry to hear that Ruby. I have been on revolade for around 3 years now and have had only positive experience thankfully. Never nausea or diarrhoea. Maybe you should ask about alternative medication as revolade clearly is not agreeing with you. Good luck

Could I ask what dose you take. I didn't have these symptoms on 50mg but it seemed to start at 75mg

I have been on 25 mg tablet once a day for few years now but have not had any problems and platelets are holding in acceptable range

I am hoping that they will reduce my dose from 75mg as I did not have such severe problems on 50mg. Glad to hear that it has worked for you

My hair was coming out in lumps on Revolade, had Retuxamag infusions and holding steady with no meds, how long for I don’t know, Can’t tolerate Romiplostim or Avatromapag. Just weaned of steroids. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
