My hubsand and I went to Addenbrookes on Wednesday this week to take part in the study. He had his blood and urnine tested even though he does not have ITP. He will be used as a control. You do need to have a stable platelet count to take part in the survey so that they can check the effects of a changed diet on your platelet levels. They had only tested 45 people when I went and I am sure that there are many more ITPers that could volounteer and go along to help with this very worth while survey.
If we can fiind a link between ITP and food intolerance it will help all of us.
Absolutely Nicky, if we can find a link between ITP and food intolerance it will hopefully help all of us.
The ITP Support Association has secured a special one day only testing session by Professor Hunter in Birmingham as we realise that it is difficult for some people to travel to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where the bulk of the tests are or have already taken place.
Anyone interested in taking part in the tests in Birmingham on the 18th of April or at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge at any other time, please contact info@itpsupport.org.uk to register your interest and see if you are eligible to take part.
I went to Addenbrookes too and have tested negative to everything. Shame, as I was hoping that it would lead to something. I look forward to the report at the conference to see how many have tested positive.
Thank you for taking part burnt_toast. Hope that the study leads to something concrete. I am sure we will learn all about the progress they have made so far at the Convention on May 12th.
