Looking for more wholistic answers to dealing with ITP

Hi, I am newly diagnosed since Aug. 2022 with ITP and have had two crashes with platelet levels in the single digits twice now. Last week they put me on a short dose of dexamethasone which helped and now I am getting Nplate injections weekly for a month.

From everything I have read, I cannot find a rhyme or a reason or any sure way of treating or predicting this disease. I believe all disease must come from some imbalance in the body and I wonder about what my work to create health and recovery. I cannot find any studies that prove anything helps for sure and my doctor agrees that there is nothing suggested. Just wondering if anyone has any insight.

Hi

I'm in the UK and have had ITP for the past 10 years +. It started as chronic and I've had breaks from it on and off over the years. Currently I have acute ITP and have had since May. My count varies from -10 to 30 ish and as such I have Platelet transfusions every other day. I wish I could recommend or suggest something that would increase your platelets more sadly I can't. If you read "Dr Google" there are lots of theory's on how to treat it including eating a shed load of a Kale but there is no scientific or medical proof that it does anything. Unless you are actively bleeding (normally in the mouth) I wouldn't worry to much. In addition to transfusions I'm also doing Nplate (500 mcg) every week. Has your doctor suggested using Rituxamab at all?
