Hi everyone, my platelets drop showed up in blood work recommended by my gastro for IBS. The count was in 70s. Haematologist ran more test before giving me ITP diagnosis. I was put on Prednisone, which was a nightmare due to terrible side effects. I quit after first cycle and then went for papaya leaf extract at the recommendation of a friend. Within no time, my count went up to 120. Since, I keep taking extract on and off. This my story and here is the question. Is ITP a risk factor in dengue fever which also substantially decreases platelets in blood?

my first ITP experience was after returning from the Amazon on 2011 . Count was 3k . I was later told ITP can be a result of dengue fever and the ONLY symptom. Had one other relapse- taking rosuvastatin in 2018. Count 4K. Stable in between and ever since- no current need for meds.
