Does dexmethsone work quickly?

Hi guys just had a relapse and ended back in hospital with a count of 2. I had come off prednisone and had two doses of IVIG one month apart so now had 2 doses of IVIG 2 days apart and taking 40mg dexmethsone has dex worked quickly for anyone?

It works very fast for me. But, like all other steroids, it stops working as soon as I stop it.Right now I'm taking weekly pulses of 40 mg until things stabilize. I take micophenolate to make my remissions last, but sometimes I have dips that I can only control with dex. As all other steroids side effects can be terrible.
