I have been on Eltrombopag for the last 5 years. I have no side affects and thanks to this tablet I live a completely normal active life with a safe platelet count.

I am from the UK. I have taken Eltrombopag every day for the last 5 years. 6 months ago my dose was reduced from 50mg / day to 25mg / day as my platelet count had been increasing slowly. I now have a count of about 80 with my lower dose and I am happy with that.

I'm in the UK and I've been taking eltrombopag for a couple of years now and it has been spectacularly successful for me, after trying many different treatments, none of which had any lasting impact on my ITP. I am now down to 25mg 3 times a week. My haematologist tried weaning me off the drug completely but my platelet count plummeted so I went back on it. I feel very well and it's like I've got my life back. Good luck with it.

Its revolade in the UK and promacta in the USA. Same drug, just different names.

Hi, im in the UK, diagnosed with ITP 10 years ago and Eltrombopag is the only pill that has kept me in the safe zone. Last count had dropped to around 70k from the 100k range I have achieved, this is far better than the 15 to 20k zone I have been on in the past. Current dose is 150mg daily and I have been on this treatment for about 3 years.

With no medication I stay at 35K. Spleen removed seven years ago. I live normally at 35K but get my platelet level check if I see large bruises. Had planned to have my nose operated on and needed to boost my platelets prior to the operation. My doctor prescribed promacta and my platelets climbed to 160K. Had the nose operation. Then I cut the promacta dose to one half. My platelets dropped to 80K. I read about the nasty possible side effects of promacta. I asked my hematologist if going back to no medication would be OK. My doctor agreed. I stopped the promacta. I am now back at a 35K platelet level. I eat a huge table spoon full of pumpkin pie filling each day. My platelets went up to 40K. I mix pumpkin pie filling from a can, some cinnamon, and honey to perk up the taste. Keep it in the refrig. It helps me a little. I mix up a new batch every ten days.

4000 is too low to live with. Need to get above 20K to stay safe, and 20K is not very safe. I am safe at 35K. My ITP has never produced a bleed in my nose or mouth. The platelets I do have must work well. At 4K you are at a stroke risk if you get a bleed in your brain. Avoiding a stroke is most important for a person with ITP. A bleed in your brain might cause you to get paralyzed, or die. Avoid a knock on your head when you are at 4K, and get those platelets boosted up.
