Still don't know what it is. Doctors say dry skin or hystamines. But much of it has gone away when doing Ketogenic diet and staying away from gluten.

observe if the allergy is just from bug bite or related to your itp or any other diseases. if chronic, get checked for it. though i have itp for over 20 years, i started developing hives 10 years ago.

i was similar to your situation 10 years ago and thought my hives was just regular allergies. along with itp, i now have chronic hives on & off over the years. my relapsed this time lasted 2 years. we just had a breakthrough & heading for remission. the hives just cleared up recently, my platelets still low but not in danger. my doc thinks my stressed might be so high that my platelets started to go down & produced various symptoms that i had to deal with. i started with heavy bleeding, bruises, petechia and last but not the least.... hives from head to toe. it was determined that it was related to my itp since the hives is chronic & not responding to anti-histamines as it normally should on minor or typical allergies. seen many specialists and treatments were unsuccessful. i stopped seeing all the specialist 6 months ago and went back to my primary doc as he was able to manage any illness i have. in the end, he is the only one that was able to treat my hives with minimal medications along with other alternative methods that is not in medical books (salt spa, acupuncture, sabatical trip, etc). i'm better now and getting back to work soon.

hope your allergies are just minor as i don't want you to suffer as i did when treated as a ginny pig on medications.

if you are open for alternative treatment rather than medications...my doc suggested to try salt spa a few times as it was found to be helpful on allergies.
