Hi, my son gets huge brown bruises and nosebleeds. He also feels the cold alot more when his blood is low and he suffers from fatigue.

Bruises usually appears if count is below 25. And I feel very hot inside even if outside temperature is cold.

If my count is low I get gum bleeding (but only when I brush my teeth) and nose bleeding. I also get huge bruises which take ages to heal, however I was told today that anyone who has ITP gets bruising no matter what their count is. I too feel the cold much more than I did previously.

I can tell when my count is dropping due to increased bruising - (often simply from one leg resting on the other during sleep), the extreme fatigue and feeling myself doing everything slower. As the fatigue increases my mood gets low and when I'm in single figures, (my lowest is 6) I could cry at the drop of a hat!

Anytime my platelets drop, even from 125 to 100 I get fatigue on the days I am dropping.

I get very obvious visible signs:

At around 100 I get red petechiae starting on my feet.

By 50 they are at top of thigh.

By 25 they reach my arms.

Fatigue is bone crushing if I get below 25

By 15 they have reached my neck with small mouth blisters and petechiae have turned dark purple

Thankfully haven't gone lower than 11

I also haven't had signs my platelets are low. The few times I have had the purpura or unusual bruising, I rushed off to get my blood tested, sure my platelets were disappearing, and my counts have been fine. I have the fatigue no matter what my counts are. It makes no sense.

Hi

I don’t usually get any symptoms until my count is very low. Below 20, I get big multicoloured bruises, bleeding gums when I brush my teeth and tiredness. Below 10, I get black blood blisters in my mouth. I have not had any nosebleeds, even with these low counts.
