Bruising .
If ur hospital appointment is going to be delayed for a while, it might be worth getting your GP to run an interim blood test. I wouldn't be too worried, I frequently had periods of many bruises during my teens, and didn't get diagnosed until my 20's, but suffered no ill effects. My son also has ITP, and they are not worried, even with a count of 3! They will only worry if he has a nosebleed that won't stop.
Hope that helps

Hi,
Just like Kzintia says below, my haematologist (UK - so levels of platelets tend to be lower before medication is considered) is encouraging me to be more comfortable with a very low count and quite a few symptoms (bruising, body-wide petechiae, some small, red not black mouth blisters). Only after that point - when I 'start oozing blood' from nose etc... will she consider medication.
That said, I found myself getting a little obsessed with the various and compounding symptoms over the past month. It's just a bit weird seeing your body visually change in a relatively short space of time.
And I'm coming to realise how much our general historical and psychological relationship with 'blood' is at the heart of my own fears of this disorder: blood is such an important bodily fluid that has so many cultural and emotional connotations. Yet I still know so little about it medically.
So, rambling on... my doc today says don't worry about bruises at all.
Tenk, I don't really worry about it all tbh I just find it a curious illness no two people are alike symptom wise as I have said once before who needs TV when you can just watch yourself bruising keeps me entertained plus my bruises come out in some very strange places knuckles, knees, eyelids, all very odd thank you for the reply .
You're right about no two people being alike, that's true even within same family. I had hideous nosebleeds and bruising with a count of 30, but no petechia, whereas my son has petechia and bruising, with rarely a nosebleed at 3.
It is very peculiar 😊
