I know from your previous posts that your friend has a severe head injury. Agitation is common for ICU patients coming off sedation so add in the head injury and it’s fairly normal. There’s an ICUsteps information sheet on head injuries at icusteps.org/information/in... and one by headway, the brain injury charity, available at headway.org.uk/about-brain-...

recovery is rarely linear, be prepared for a bumpy journey.

this happened to me. When you are agitated it may not be the best time to come round.

Hi Purplerain-87

I remember you’re first post.

What I can say from my journey told to me by my partner and family is the day they were told to come and say good bye as I wasn’t going to pull through is. I was on a roller coaster I would have a good day then go backwards, sometimes it was two forward one back or level this went on for weeks.

But eventually it goes more in the right direction and then you come out the other side.

Keep strong
