My anniversary

October 10 through November 24 is my anniversary of my hospital stay. About 10 of those days were spent in icu. Although this is my ten year anniversary of surviving that illness and the hospital, during this time, it always feels like the first year. Does anyone else have a difficult time emotionally when your anniversary comes around? If so how do you adjust to it?

I’m sorry you struggle each anniversary. I went back to ICU about a week after leaving hospital to thanks all the nurses. I was in a coma for 57 days & awake in ICU for 33 days - I’d become very familiar with it which helped.

It’s an anniversary of apart of your life, celebrate the positives. You never know what will trigger the memories- go with it it’s normal what ever normal is
