Hi all, does anyone know of any useful games, strategies or techniques that can help stimulate a patients mind following severe brain damage.
My brother suffered up to 9 minutes of oxygen deprivation and it is a miracle how well he is doing today.
When we chat I am amazed how well he is doing but he knows something is wrong as one minute he is completely with me, lucid in his thinking and speech and the next minute he is off in past memories which were years ago and do not make any sense to him.
The hard part is he knows he is going off on a tangent which doesn't have an ending so its frustrating for him.
He ha severe brain damage so it is understandable that he is searching his mind and cannot find all the answers but I just wondered if anyone knew of any games or tools or techniques that can help my brother find the present time more often and assimilate his mind and thoughts more.
Time will tell how well he recovers I know but seeing as Covid prevents visitors I feel he needs more stimulation or at least he is capable of using his brain more than he currently is.
Can anyone suggest anything or any ideas from experience?
Thank you
Adam
P.S. Anything to prevent his boredom in hospital would be welcome.
