Mental health after ICU/COVID

Hello all, I'm glad to say that mom is Covid free now but still at the hospital because of a stroke. She's paralyzed and doing physiotherapy.

I want to hear about your relatives whose lives are not threatened anymore, how is their mental state right now? My mom is so monosyllabic. She's fully conscious but I feel she's depressed. I keep telling her to make efforts so she can go back home but her expression tells me she doesn't want to fight for that ☹

I’m so sorry to read this @Marcita - her stroke may have affected a part of the brain so that she is not sure of what is being asked of her. I know people can slowly improve from a stroke & their cognitive function can return - I hope this is the case for your Mum.
