Who can relate?

Everythingchanged profile image

Me

I was placed in a medical induced coma for 2 months in 2003. The thing is I had never been sick in my life other than a bout of flu or diarrhea. I “woke up” blind and paralyzed from waist down. The team at the Mayo Clinic did their best. I did regain sight in my right eye and after physical therapy I learned to walk. (Before the coma I was a pretty good athlete) I lost memory and my job as a prosecutor. My wife divorced me taking my newborn son with her. At first I was bitter, but God has kept me from losing it. 😀. My problem is I have so many questions because of memory loss. People tell me about how I “used” to behave. It’s like I have no frame of reference. Can anyone relate?

Which post are you submitting. Lupus & epilesy or who can relate? Is your post for real?

Seems a very strange post!!

Who were you talking to? As the poster of message mentioned nothing about lupus or epilepsy. And only posted 5 mins ago whereas you commented 10 days ago. How confusing 😵 you are seemingly replying to a post that isn't there and to a post seemingly that wasn't posted then as I was only posted 5 mins ago. It appears you are replying to the poster : Everythingchanged but you can't be as their message only posted minutes ago.

That was so weird thought I was going a bit more potty than usual. Everythingchanged reposted but omitted lupus and epilepsy changing it to : Can anybody relate.

Sorry about that Sepsur.

No worries - I was hoping Admin would step in - it is a weird post - why is there a copyright symbol too, at the bottom?

This programme on BBC radio 4 explains about induced coma from a patients view and a clinical psychologist. I hope it is helpful.
