My question is??? If you have a lot of fluid inside your lungs and they need to drain it. Is there any other procedure instead of putting the TUBE inserts inside your mouth can they insert it on your side??? At least the patient can talk even there’s a tube inserted to their bodies. Coz that happens to one person I know but they insert the tube to drain the fluid in his lungs to his side so he’s awake for the whole time and it works. If they only do that to my husband may be my husband still alive right now. Or at least I can talk to him while his at the ICU coz he’s not in a comma. I feel like the doctor make him suffer bcoz of that tube inside his mouth. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN that to me??? The doctors or who EVER. I JUST need A CLOSEUR coz it REALLY HURTS me and My only SON. And my husband is too young. Plss help and PRAY for. Me and my son thank you all god bless.

If you have a smart phone - the society of critical care medicine produces a great app called - Patient Communicator - the glossary will also explain all of the reasons for tubes/ drains & positioning.
