I'm 2013 I married the love of my life the person who I was in a relationship with for 6 years. 5 days after my wedding I woke up with excruciating chest pains and couldn't explain why. I remember going in to the emergency room crying and minutes later I was gone. I woke up feeling like I took a nap no pain no feelings but confusion. I cried and cried when I realized that I was at a hospital tubes everywhere and couldn't speak due to a tracheotomy. My mother walked up to me in tears and said "thank god you're awake ITS ALMOST YOUR BDAY" 3 months and a half had past. I was told I had chronic pancreatitis and that's it. A month after that I was transferred to a rehabilitation center for physical therapy and told that I was going to be up in 3 months... it's been almost two years and I'm still on a wheelchair with deteriorated muscles a broken heart and my mind is not definitely were it was at before. I'm confused and feel alone since no one can understand me.

It's a long ways to recovery my husband was also hooked up to tubes and had lost a lot of muscle mass. I don't know how strong your support system is but as far as your mind goes it helps to talk to someone who has gone through it. It takes time to try to understand the aftermath of illnesses. Prayers work believe it or not
Hi Christine the same thing happened to my partner, the ICU here in Spain were amazing and after many setbacks he is now home, but no explanations or follow on Care ! I feel like we are on our own, he is slowly starting to walk unaided now, but is very tired easily and when this happens he becomes confused! He cannot do much other than wash and dress himself that in itself is a major chore! He can't drive or work and is very quiet and I know he has flash backs to his dreams of 7 weeks in ICU! I took him to a hydrotherapy spa over the wkend that seemed to soothe his limbs which are continually painful? We have received no explanation as to why this happened or wether his pancreas has any permanent damage? Although his care in ICU was second to none I don't know where we go from here?
