Finally after months of trying to get my doctor on side! I have started to self monitor and dose myself with warfarin. I don't have to go back to my doctors unless there is something wrong with me like a normal person! or my INR becomes an issue. So happy, feel like I can finally get on with life and start a new job in peace.

Yes I'm going back in 6 months just to test and check all is well but that's not even a 5 min appointment. So glad that I can get on with life.

Well done its great that your GP is on your side.
Mine are backing me but the hospital clinic does not so I have never had mine checked with a venous draw in 9 years.

That is great news. My doctor just prescribed me a home testing unit too. What a relief
Slighly jealous over here in the USA...they look at me like I am nutty when I bring up the matter. I recently read on the APS site that they do not recommend home monitoring machines for APS patients. Time for me to move to the U.K. 
In addidition to my above comment..........Something about the test strips will cause a false-high reading. Anyone know anything about this...again, I am in the USA. 
My husband is also now self testing. Not having to wait for a nurse at our surgery to have a spare spot ('we will work around your life'...I don't think so!) is a big relief. It also means he can check once a week instead of the anything up to 10 weeks, especially as his INR is never where it should be.
