Am i sick...well that would depend in what you mean by sick wouldnt it?
I am not SICK as i am not voiting, well not today anyway lols, am i ill then? well that also depends on what you mean by ill....i will let you be the judge of that. I have medical issues/problems and they are as follows, I have Floaters in my eyes, I have Spinal Stenosis, I also have arthritis in the neck, left elbow and knee,I have a Frozen right shoulder, I have a blocked or collapsed artery in my abdomen, which already has 1 stent in supporting it i also have pain in my right foot that is permenant and cant put weight on it ( dont know why yet) and I have APS....i am now on my fourth week of quitting smoking and doing well for it....
When i attend the jobcentre plus people as i recently had to give up work, which i loved...they tell me i am not fit for work as they cant find anything that would be suitable , so i am now trying to claim ESA, awaiting ATOS sending me appointment for them to say i cant have ESA either as they have done so many other people....i have no idea what if any benenifits i can claim, i am single parent with a 13 yr old son that is a great help to me know, poor little love has to carry everything for me cos i cant any more as i now have to wal with a stick due to arterial problem and pain in back and feet, he helps me to get dressed do the house work cook clean ohhh all sorts ......i love him so much and tell him often and try to reward him for all he does for me.......
There are days when i look in the mirror adn see myself and say to myself ... you dont look ill, you dont look old what is your problem.....then i move and i do feel old tired broken etc...i dont often moan or winge or whine but today is one of those days when everything is too much i want to scream and shout but if i do my son thinks theres something wrong and comes running ..so have decided i would dump all of that here in my blog ......i do apologise to any who read this but rant over ...and i wish you all hugs and best wishes for your medical issues x

Well hello there, we all have times and days like this,, and now we all have the added burden of benefits being taken away. I can relate to it all and also to not wanting to burden your child, myself too. Sorry today is one of those days... and at least on here we all know what we are on about. Sending you best wishes. Hmmm know how you feel!!! All I can advise is when you fill in the forms do it on your worst days!!! the really bad day!!! when you know you could not work! also at the medical do not pretend you are ok!!! I have serious lumber problems and the Doctor asked me to bend down and touch my toes!!! I refused....why should I put myself in further pain trying to do their antics! I also know I can not touch my toes at the moment but that is besides the point ...it hurts and I am not going to to it just to please them!! I would not do it at home so....! the other was to put my arms above my head....I refused to do that also...severe arthritis in my shoulders...have also dislocated one shoulder a few times....so this is not the best thing to do!! again it hurts alot!!! If you do these things for them , they will take it you can do them all the time!!! you must be truthful to yourself!!
Not much help really but just my experience when trying to claim esa! its tough for all benefits at the moment... may be dla as well???
I am sure more people will come and tell you a lot more than I can ..so hang in there!! just be strong and if the answer they give you is negative then appeal!!!
Dont worry about the rant....I did one the other day on more or less the same subject!!!
If you go on Martin Lewis website they have a section to do a benefit check, it will check what benefits you may be able to claim. Also there is help for your son in young carers.
At least here others know what you are going through and care.
There is a lot of information on here about claiming ESA and DLA most of it provided by Lynne who has been a real help to me.
It is a good idea to get help filling in the forms. CAB are always willing to help. Also make sure you ask for any interviews to be recorded (you are entitled to this) and always take someone with you.
Your boy sounds lovely and remember there are support groups out there for young carers as well.
We all have had days when it all gets a bit much, I have M.S. and A.P.S. lots of back surgary, to to anyone in the street some days, people chase me in the store because I jave parked in a disabled space, people can be crule and judge you just be looking, I also have children who are grown up now and yes they helped me more than most , but I always made sure they had free time and someone they can vent , to its scarry for them too, thier is help out thier you have to ask, but for yourself I am so pleased you found this site so you can say how you really feel , without worring you are going to upset someone, we are not all the same, but we all understand , just sometimes you want to shout and say this is not fair ,I do not deserve this , but then would you wish it on anyone else ,no we dont it makes us strong, individuals who really understand just how presious life is, I wish you well.
