I am on 120mg heparin and 10mg warfan. For the last three months if I bruise myself it creates a hard lump....it eventually goes away. I have never had this before. Does anyone else have this? Is it worth worrying about? Your thoughts?...thanks Mysty

I have this also, its just where the fluid sits under the skin and collects, the best way is to inject the skin and rub it with your fingertip for a while to make sure the fluid from the injection disperses, sometimes i think i hit a vein or something and thats when it hurts x
Hi there, as Lynn says, what is your INR? is the warfarin not stabilizing your INR?
To answer your question, when I was on heparin injections, mainly around the injection site I was getting big lumps, that hurt and badly bruised these were hematoma's, I was told not to rub the site though as this caused small bleeds?- If you are bruising elsewhere and getting the lumps, I would query with your doc if they are hematoma's and if you should worry about them.
Hi I get this too nearly every time i inject. The doc told me they are small cysts that form when the fluid is not absorbed all at once. It happens even when the nurse was giving me the jabs at first. He said i only had to worry if they were very sore and remained sore after 7 days. I have had some that were sore , on moving especially bending but it did get better in a few days. Unfortunatly it seems its a side effect of the jabs
Hi, never rub the injection site. It will cause further bruising. What you discribe is an haematoma. If left alone it will naturally be absorbed. But if it is painful, or becomes hot then do see your doctor. If you are bruising too much also see your doctor to check your platlets.
I realise this is an old post but just wondered if anyone can comment - I have just felt a bump too and it's a little painful to touch. It feels like a cyst. It is in the site where I injected tinzaparin this evening. Do you think I have anything to be concerned about?
