I’ve come to the conclusion that the ideal Christmas doesn’t include admission to hospital with a bleed on Boxing Day when I’m staying away from home.😢
Oh Well: I’ve come to the conclusion... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Oh Well
Oh so sorry, never a good time but especially when away. Wishing you speedy recovery x
Thank goodness we took the decision to go to a big teaching hospital rather than the local district one. It still took a long time to be taken seriously, and then A&E spoke to the haematology consultant and suddenly it was….. Sometimes being paranoid is the right thing to do.
You were in South Africa ( Johannesburg? ) or UK?
Do you keep a letter from Prof Cohen saying what you should do in case of an emergency ( bleed?) if you are int in England?
I did see her at the end of October privately/ in person at the McMillan center. I remember you and I did „speak on here about that.)
She did tell me at my appointment she will continue to see patients privately- she is not going into full retirement.
I hope you are now on the mend and there is a suitable plan in place.
Thanks Kelly,
I’m glad you managed to see Prof Cohen, it must be a real relief to you. I’ve finished my job in Nigeria and am back in the U.K. The return is partly because of my health, which I wasn’t happy about but understand.
I am up in Yorkshire visiting my family for Xmas and have ended up in St James Hospital. They have a thrombosis team and have managed to get all my UCLH records (no small achievement over Xmas). I’m feeling in good hands, they may discharge me tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.
Funny post, however sad that is the way you spent your holiday,,,😔
So sorry to hear that . I hope you have a good recovery and I am so glad you got the right treatment, despite the timing. I hope you can do something nice when you are well again to make up for missing out.
Wishing you a very speedy recovery MaryF
