Hi

This has probably already been answered but I cant find the info. Does anyone know if people with APS are in at risk group and so eligible for the current covid vaccine?

thanks for any help on this.

I don't think so, at least not automatically just from APS. BUT... if you are on pretty much any immunosuppressants (which some are. but not me) you probably will be because of that, but not directly because of the APS.

There is (or at least was) some confusion in the NHS systems on this. Last year with the "spring booster" I got multiple text messages invites / reminders to get the booster but after a lot of deliberation (by multiple professionals) at a walk in centre they finally decided I wasn't eligible after all.

Since then I am less sure - last autumn I got invites as well, but so did my wife as she was immunosuppressed from cancer treatment, when we went for the vaccine they just ticked the box for me living with her, because it was easier than going through all the details of my condition and medications. This year I have had the booster because my wife got invites again went to a walk-in and they said she still qualified and moreover I could come in and get jabbed there and then, again on the basis of living-with someone immunopsuppressed.

But, note, this year I haven't had any text reminders / invites from the "algorithm" at all. [might not mean much, it might still have sent them to me in a later block, but maybe won't now because I've had it].

That's probably not a lot of help - but that's because eligibility can be complicated and very individual I guess.

Hi Ray46

Thanks a lot for your reply. I had kind of mixed messages with texts too. I might get in touch with them and see what they say. Hope things going well with your wife's cancer treatment.

kind regards
