Forgive this length. Edit as needed.

Part 1: In 1986 I had multiple DVTs with a platelet count of over 800, ( also had been anemic since childhood.) I started warfarin and the DVTs ended. After @10 years my platelet count dropped to normal and the warfarin was stopped. That week... as in THAT week ! I had my first migraine. My attempt to point out that discontinuing warfarin just days before the migraine fell on deaf medical ears. Over the next 4-5 years the migraines increased in frequency and intensity until finally ( I was trying to hide and downplay my symptoms) in 2001 someone observed that I was actually having a stroke. A subsequent MRI confirmed I had experienced many mini strokes. APS was suspected, later confirmed with high cardiolipins. I returned to warfarin and the symptoms stopped.

Part 2:In 2004 I discovered by accident ( tried the Atkins Diet) that I had Celiac or gluten sensitivity. After going gluten free all those high rheumatoid factors fell to what one hematologist called " boring." For the first time I was no longer anemic.

Part 3: I have been on warfarin ever since. Now, at age 66, I have begun to have bleeding and bruising issues despite keeping my PR/ INR under control. My blood work continues to be boringly normal - including platelet and RBC levels --And negative beta 2 glycoprotein. Might I be done with APS and ready to discontinue warfarin? Or at least lower my target INR below the current 2.5?
