Did they recall the coagucheck machine or just some of the texts strips. Is the XS a good option for triple positive APS? Need wonder and don’t know if I asked before or not. My memory is shot. I’m will sigh back on latter and see what everyone says.
Thank you

That is what I was thinking but I wanted to be sure. I am unstable so I guess it’s not the way to go for me. But I could use them to give me a general idea about where I’m at! Other then just going off symptoms.
I totally agree with KellyInTexas! Try to take more vein-tests at a lab and try to be constant in what you eat (especially greens) drugs if possible etc.
I use the coagucheck but as a guide. I’m LA positive and I can have huge variations at times and other times it’s almost identical to my vein draw. There’s no rhyme or reason to it either - believe me I’ve tried to figure out a pattern but there doesn’t appear to be one.
It’s always over the vein value though so I can use it knowing that if the machine says less than 3 then I should definitely use a clexane injection to bridge.
I have an excellent GP who gives me access to same day vein draws and results so if my machine is saying a very out of range value then I can go for a vein draw and have results within an hour or two. The system works well for me and I self manage my warfarin dose as well as self test but it isn’t for everybody.
I to am LA pos. I have triple positive and then a few more clotting issues thrown in, just for fun! My INR is not stable no matter what u do or don’t do. When she was using the coagucheck u used it as a loose guide along with symptoms. I to manage my own warfarin dosing. My PC said I know my body better than she does and as u know those of us who are unstable we have to change dosage quite often and Drs can’t talk to us every day. Looks like we are both in the same boat from what u have read most people are relatively stable. My dr gives me three prescription levels of warfarin so i can change it as necessary.
Hi, it is particular batches of strips, I believe, which were a problem. As Kelly says certain patients do not do so well with the machines, due to their particular Hughes Syndrome/APS profile, while others are better with it. I am glad you have had detailed responses, better than I could give, from a personal experience, as I have never used one. MaryF
