It’s great that you ask. So many, including some of those who have Sjögren’s, don’t spell or pronounce it correctly.

So I decided a few years ago to train my spell check to write it correctly - but still never quite know how to pronounce it right.

My first GP used to pronounce it “Shur grens” and I think this is correct so it’s what I say too. But most of my new GPs just opt out of saying it at all, referring to it as “your autoimmune disease” or saying it so rapidly that I wonder if they too lack confidence about saying the Sjö part?!! X

I haven’t got my head round writing of saying antiphospholipid yet because I’m not even diagnosed with it so you are ahead of me on this one!

In Sweden we spell it with a "ö" as it was a Swedish Doctor (Sjögren) who found out about the illness and after him it has got his name. How you say it in English I actually do not know.You do not use "Ö" as I understand.
