Hi, I've heard of a link between APS & hepatic pancreatitis but not seen anything related to a mass.

You've just gone through surgery, have they now found something else or is this just curiosity?

The cat scan I had to qualify me for the TVAR procedure showed something and Drs. sent me for a MRI which showed a mass. Now Drs. want me to have an endoscopy with a biopsy which means coming of my Coumadin again and going thru bridging for the procedure. I'm seeing an oncologist on the 22nd.

Good morning,

I too was diagnosed with a pancreatic mass. Being in the US I immediately went to John’s Hopkins instead of my local cancer center as directed.

No link has ever been found or suggested. My mass is not cancerous but apparently can turn cancerous so I am scanned yearly.

I’ve been told by every doctor I’ve asked “ it just happens, they don’t know why”.

I have lupus, RA, APS, GCA...those are the main ones. Connection? Who knows. I’m 64.

Good luck yo you and feel free to private message me at any time.

Susan

Will let you know how I make out. Seeing a pancreatic specialist at Simlow at Yale. I don’t have lupus

Yes, please let me know how you make out. It is a horrible and emotional path to be on. My thoughts are with you. They will move fast, be prepared for it and take someone with you if you can as you probably won’t catch it all, it’s difficult to do so with your stress level so high, only natural.

Also, they did a biopsy on me and I was SO drugged there was no way I would have understood anything for 3 days.

Good luck to you!

I think anybody can get a tumour regardless of the Hughes Syndrome/APS. However a friend of mine, became very ill with what turned out to be a very large accumulation of clots in that area, she did test positive for Hughes Syndrome/APS and she had this: hindawi.com/journals/crirh/... Not saying you have this, but this is what happened to my friend, she is ok now, she has a multitude of autoimmune conditions, and the testing for Hughes Syndrome/APS was the final piece of the jigsaw. I hope your medical team get to the bottom of it all. MaryF

In 2001 when I was diagnosed with very aggressive non Hodgkin lymphoma, my oncologist said I was prone to any cancer due to the fact any autoimmune disorder indicates immune system not functioning properly. Normal immune system targets mutant cells and tried to destroy them. Our immune systems are not normal.
