Previously I forgot to mention that, Doctor says her vision is also affected. Ophthalmologist visited her, but she couldn't assess properly as my mom didn't co-operate.

My wife had a stroke in 2013. Communication is still a huge problem but even after years it can still improve although very slowly.

She has been unable to say my name since the stroke but the love is stronger than ever. Stay strong it is a long journey but the person you love is still in their.

No one can tell you what will happen in the long run, some people recover well and for some it’s a lot harder. You need to try and deal with things day by day. As for her eyesight we had the same problem getting eyesight tests but the neurologist said you can’t do a normal test because of the aphasia but as they can test a babies sight they need to do it in the same way. She may never say your name again, my names Brian but after 6 years the closest I get is Bengy but we also have a lot of one handed gestures we use so even though it can be a nightmare you can still find ways to communicate. You are doing all the right things but make sure you take a bit of time for yourself now and again as caring for someone can be exhausting so you need to take care of yourself as well.

Stay strong

Brian

Functional medicine is unraveling a lot of immune system puzzles. It is quite probable that allergies to foods, hidden mold or fungus build ups, heavy metal build ups -all may be at the root ( functional) cause of autoimmunity. I dont know if ir is advisable, or even possible, to search for possible food allergies now. But yes, a lactose intolerance makes perfect sense to me.
