Diagnosed with APS in 2012 following a series of DVTs (left leg) and been on Warfarin since. Managed by self-testing (Coagucheck) and quarterly venous tests and checks by hospital. Operate within an INR target range between 3.5 & 4.5 and no problem maintaining this. However, left leg veins have, and are continuing to deteriorate, which has been put down to resultant damage caused by the DVTs. I have painful varicose veins in the left calf, phlebitis from left knee down including left foot, vein ‘blown’ in upper left thigh and venous reflux in my left leg. Walking is painful and was referred by my rheumatologist to a vascular consultant who advises that surgical intervention is not possible as he felt it would make matters worse. So been left to carry on with surgical stocking, crutches and compromised mobility with my leg circulation periodically checked. However, I have now developed a left groin issue that my GP believes is vein related and extending up from my thigh, this is extremely painful and
debilitating
Would be grateful to hear off anyone who has had similar problems or knows of a UK consultant specialising in this area. Also has anyone had experience of non-surgical options such varicose vein coils etc.
