I am a 4 time stroke survivor. My daily routine is to walk slowly with a cane or with one in the house. I still have balance issues. Sometimes I can’t wash my left foot without pain in my left thigh. My right leg was damaged in these series of strokes but not to bad. My brain gets foggy and sometime I can’t understand due to brain damage. I give God the glory for each day that he allows me to see, and my family and friends and church family help me.

To know if you have our illness you should test the 3 antibodies for HS/APS.
Also you should speak with a Specialist of autoimmun illnesses as we are sometimes sero-negative (the bloodtest show 0 antibodies) but later on we are postitive. A Specialist knows these things and also that we can have micro-emboli or micro-clots that are not shown on a Scan of today as they are so tiny but still do harm to our body.
Also if your parents and relatives earlier have also have similar symptoms it can be important and should be told to the Specialist.
Hope you will find a solution to your symptoms. You could try 75-100 mg of Aspirin/day to see if you feel any better. You could also read "Sticky Blood Explained" by Kay Thackray. She has this illness and neurological symptoms and writes about it. Good book also for relatives to understand how it is to live with our illness.
Best wishes to you from Kerstin in Stockholm
I do take Bayern aspirin 81 mg daily and a blood thinner meds every morning. Also I have asthma, that flare up every season. Thank you for your imput
Emotional or psychological support is very, very important. It is also known that those with "faith" (where "faith" may be interpreted widely) have the capacity to focus on the here-and-now and the future.
At the same time, it is necessary to be seeing a specialist in APS/Hughes. I am assuming you have this diagnosis, which is why you are here. If that is not the case, then I would advise you to get a diagnosis and ensure that you are getting sufficient anti-coagulation.
I have just seen another of your posts and it doesn't seem you have a diagnosis.
Faith alone is not going to help you deal with your condition. You must go and see your doctor and get the necessary referrals so that you are not at risk of having another stroke. I urge you to do this as soon as possible.
With good wishes,
Ros
Hi,
I agree with Ros, as we have both asked you, if you have been diagnosed with HS/APS as that is the illness we have on this site.
Please confirm if you have a diagnose of our illness!
