What is CRP? I know C reactive protine , I googled it and it comes up about heart? My Rheumatologist didn't seem impressed with mine at 11.1 but didn't explain how it relates to rheumatology?

Hi, The traditional CRP measurement is often used to detect inflammation in the body. Your doctor has ordered this to check the level of C-reactive protein level for flare-ups of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or vasculitis or to monitor whether anti-inflammatory medications are working to treat a disease or condition.
Ahh makes sense now Thank you π X
Mine always remains slightly high, but is at times worse, usually if I am brewing an infection or if my psoriarsis is flaring. MaryF
