I have APS, my question is important to me as I am completely. Stuck it's about my thyroid, I am seen locally and in London and have negative results for my thyroid but am convinced that something is wrong, please advise me how and what I can do for further testing as I am at a loss on how to push for this? Many thanks x

Hi, well done for keeping an open mind about this, the NHS is only set up in the main to do the TSH test, and that is very unreliable and the banding very narrow, which is why so many people slip through the net and get told they have 'Fibro' that alongside B12 deficiency and other things not being picked up.

If you look at Thyroid UK's website below, an excellent charity who we team up with, due to their expert advice and campaigning for better care! thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/index....

They have a whole section on private testing, this is the only way around this problem, as even if doctors ask for these tests the labs refuse. TUK also have a good forum on this platform. I choose the most extensive testing I can find, and including Iron, B12 D and all the tests such as these, you book on line and then that included the blood draw depending on how you set it up.

These are the sort of things I do TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies,Thyroglobulin Antibodies, Ferritin ,Folate, Vitamin B12 (NOT ACTIVE B12), C Reactive Protein, Vitamin D (25 OH), REVERSE T3, Insulin, HbA1c, Magnesium.

Although of course you can do less, especially if the GP is already doing your B12, Iron and D etc.

Best of luck. MaryF
