Walking Gait

Has anyone else suffered or is suffering from Foot Slap or walking gait. I recently had a flare which involved pain moving up and down my left side which has so far left me with a weakened right arm. I recently began to notice that my right foot was slapping when I put it down. Ho hum! if it's not one thing it's another.

Sorry the above should say Right side, that is another symptom of mine where I say the complete opposite of what I mean.

I wonder how did it go with your musclebleeding some days ago?

I understand you had earlier trouble to keep your INR steady? But as you selftest every second day you can see when it goes too high and eat a little more broccoli or brusselsprouts.

Many of our symptoms (to our surprise) has to do with a too low INR. I have myself noticed that I need at least a 30 minutes walk every day to get the blood working. I also always take the stairs (just up not down) when you can take the escalator.

Here in Stockholm we learn that when we have pain we should exercise all the same otherwise we get more pain. I am as old as 72 and then it may be even more important. I have been lucky that I have not had much pain but it has happened.

I hope you will feel better soon

Kerstin, you are right I did have an episode of bleeding into a muscle. I was told to decrease my INR to 3.0 and self test every other day. That seems to have sorted it. However this flops foot might just be scaled by a low INR. I too agree with you and try to walk my dogs every day for at lease 25-40 mins. Thank you for your comments.

I had this and excruciating pain in 1997, which lasted several months. This was before I was diagnosed with APS. When I first saw Prof Hughes he said that it was probably clotting in a nerve.

Dave, Thanks you are probably right, it may also be something to do with having 3 herniated discs in the lumbar area. Whilst the consultant knows they are there, they have done nothing about themother than giving me pain killers.
