Need help: No luck wit physio I'm... - Hughes Syndrome A...

You need to see your rheumatologist, excuse me if I have asked before but are you seeing somebody off our recommended list of specialists in the UK, and if not in the UK somebody fully clued up on Hughes Syndrome/APS. If not you may need to take your most articulate friend, colleague, relative or neighbour to act as your advocate and push, as you clearly are not being helped as much as you should be. MaryF
Yes he is on your list and is auite lovely but getting an answer from him is very difficult. Regards diane
So sorry, Diane. I had the same trouble with physio. Nothing they could do. Are you on Hydroxychloriquin? Prof Hunt just put me on it and promised it would relieve the pain once it kicks in. It needs to be prescribed by your rheumatologist. If not, just keep trying to push through the pain, walk a little each day, swim (no strain on any joint) - anything to keep your body moving. Good luck xxxx
I have a suggestion-I was not able to physio but I am able to do pool therapy. I am fortunate I found a heated pool (bath water). The warm water dilates the vessels & light exercise gets the blood moving. I recommend giving it a try.

Water therapy sounds great to me. Today both my Gp and hospital phoned and I start or atleast going to discuss acupunture. They are concerned about my inr but I'm certainly willing to give it a try. Let you all know how I get on. Im ouching already.

You guys are already making me feel the pain. I walked 3 miles last Saturday, and then another three miles on Sunday. I have not walked that much since my DVT three years ago. It's been almost five days now since the weekend and my DVT leg is still in a lot of pain. I wonder if I overdid it with the exercise. Any how, I hope you can get on the right meds for your pain. I take a medium duty pain killer 4 times a day and I have a long acting very strong pain killer that I use a couple of times a month. My pain goes beyond just soreness.
