I joined an organisation called medic alert. You can buy bracelets from them. You pay a yearly subscription for them to hold your details on file should the emergency services need to treat you. Their number is on the back of the bracelet.
I am about to do three for myself and children and will probably go with Medic Alert. MaryF
I am also with medic alert. I did have a wrist band which had a discreet medical sign on one side and a big red warning on other that I was on Warfarin -got it on Amazon for a few quid. The good thing with medic alert is you can decide what to put on the bracelet and what info they will hold for when paramedics or hospital phone them
Hi, I get mine on line from a place called Lauren's Hope. The bracelet collection is really pretty, they have all different types to choose from. I also like them because if I call with a question an actual person answers the phone. Jen
I have a thumb drive with a text file detailing my illness, medications, and my doctor's phone number. -- though I must admit I do not always carry the thumb drive, and come to think of it, I have not updated it with my new doctor's contact info.
I bought an sos bracelet at. Samuel jewellers itlooks nice and you can alter your details on the strip of paper inside (it's waterproof )if you need new bits for it, you just send for them. Hope you find one to suit you.
Hi, The idband Company have a massive range and some really nice ones. You could give them a try.

I had the same problem with them breaking - had two go. The woman I spoke to said they had changed the information in the descriptions of the bracelets to say that they were not suitable for 'daily' as in all the time use. She said the metal and sports bands are the only ones that they can guarantee for daily use!
Hello, and welcome! I'm newly diagnosed too! Regarding an alert bracelet, I have to agree with CalebJacob. I ordered a really pretty bracelet from the ID Band Company, with engraving, and it arrived next day. The quality is really good (reassuringly heavy!).
I also bought an sos bracelet at Samuel jewellers. It has a concertina strip of paper inside with masses of information space. It seems to be indestructible. I've had it for 10 years and it's been in water and mud and remains intact! It's not expensive and has the advantage of giving medical staff immediate information about you. I also have an SOS sticker on my car rear window to alert people in case of an accident and a medic alert pouch with details velcroed to my safety belt. Not taking ANY chances!!
I think they found they were getting broken a lot - if you look on their descriptions of the bracelets they now say on all be bead ones that they are for occasional use. I used to wear mine all the time i.e. to bed, in shower etc, with the reasoning that I could get ill anywhere. They go at the join - the wire band is strong but how they join it to itself by the catch isn't! I have a metal one now with a round dangly disc - it is very nice actually, and it does feel nice and secure!
