A question????

Can anyone advise or even reply if they know or indeed are medical professionals, consultants, proffessors, research scientists etc on Healthunlocked please?

I've often wondered as some responses/questions are very good and informative.

I of course understand people may wish to remain anonymous but I'm just curious.

Thank you.

I do believe we have one or two, and we do our best as Administrators to find the correct information and research papers and contacts, but regarding who is medically qualified and perhaps also has the disease, will remain probably anonymous. It is not in the spirit of the way the forums are run to have doctors giving out advice, plus their own privacy needs protecting - and of course we always try to get members to get good advice off their own medical professionals and of course to read and inform themselves to a deeper level from papers and books suggested on here. I might add that I am a member of other forums for various conditions and I too play that guessing game. All the best to you. MaryF

Thanks Mary I've looked at some of the links/research posted and found it very useful. I am a member of a couple of other groups here too I've noticed a few cross overs between conditions and questions recently too which can only help further I guess.

I am a licensed Mental Health professional ....my own journey thru the medical system led me to learn about APS and Autoimmune DIsorders in general....and have been able to provide folks and patients

with resources and "links".....my own Rheumatologist has taught me quite a bit....and stressed

how ill prepared most MD's are to recognize Autoimmune Disorders....resulting in people becoming

very ill prior to diagnosis

Thank you. I was in the unknown when first diagnosed back in 1996 as the medical team couldn't fathom out what was happening.

Unfortunately history repeated itself 2 years ago when I was struck with CAPS and as I was unconscious on admission it took a while to fathom out a second time. I consider myself very fortunate to be here on all levels.

Best wishes

stay well

I used to work as a lowly nurse's aide when I was in college and for a year and a half after college. Strangely, that lead to me working at a health magazine in the US, writing articles, researching, and interviewing doctors, so I've become pretty good at digesting medical materials. Also, I've been dealing with my autoimmune issues since the 70s that has been difficult to diagnose, so that has really gotten my research in gear.

I have been threw the ringer with this disorder - have seen research that conflict -- this is not out of the ordinary from what i have seen. The people on here share great info on their experiences. It's up to you to figure out what pertains to you as we all can be different. I am sure we will help in anyway we can . but in the end it's up to you ..
