Does any one esle have problem with teeth who are suffering APS/LUPUS In the last 3 months i have had to have two teeth removed via the hospital and now have to have another one taken out. Does Lupus/APS affect teeth or calcium etc.

Hi teadonna I have no idea if APS affects calcium levels; but I've always had problems with my teeth until I was diagnosed 1st with Coeliac disease. I was then put on an intense course of calcium and vitamin D tablets. It wasn't until 8 years later that I was diagnosed with APS. My understanding is that I must have always had APS but was diagnosed with Coeliac disease 1st as they go hand in hand.

We can only give experiences on this page and are not health professionals so I would suggest you speak to your Dr/Consultant about the matter. It may just be coincidence.

Yeah my teeth too are dropping to bits they seemed to weaken after I had my son but I just presumed that was kind of normal my sons now 18 and was diagnosed with APS last year after years of going to the doctors with symptoms and not knowing what was wrong I ended up with a diagnosis after suffering two clots in my leg, I need lots of teeth removed I'm fighting for me to be placed under general anaesthetic and all work to be carried out in one go rather than every month going through monitoring for my warfarin cos since being on it I've become quite a bleeder don't know if the two are connected but I too have trouble

I have problems two lost a couple of teeth my gums bleed but I do not have gum disease. I have sicca syndrome but not spurgeons. This means I have dry mouth and eyes. I go to the dentist regularly use aloe Vera gel toothpaste and have started pulling which is swilling coconut oil through and round your teeth.

I know a lot of us have to put up with a whole heap of symptoms and over lapping diseases but please think of regularly checking your vitamin d, iron and b. Myself and the children have ours done three times a year, and despite our excellent diet we periodically need help with these. We don't stay on the D or iron permanently it is fine tuned depending on the blood test results. MaryF

My Mom in her last years (late 80s) had a number of teeth removed. The orthodontist told me she had a disease which caused the body to re-absorb the calcium as the teeth age. (At this point he smiled, gave me a friendly punch on my arm and said, "Its genetic!")

But I have no idea if this condition he referred to has a name or is or is not related to anything else.
