Hi there, clearly if you are worried and this is a new symptom and ongoing a check up with a medical GP would be advisable, who looks after your care and do you have a diagnosis of Hughes Syndrome/APS?
MaryF
Hi,
Do you have Hughes syndrome? If so I should follow the advice of MaryF. I had those things before I started warfarin . They were microclots the last years. It could be like being stabbed by a knife in the back or the side of the head.
Hope you have an APS doctor that "gets" what you are telling him or her.

Hello
As my Colleague Mary has asked you, do you have a diagnosis of APS?
I agree with Mary's advice to you.

Lots of possibilities here. Do see a doc. It could be a mini tension head ache which can be treated easily, so don't assume the worst. But go and get it checked out!
i have the same thing...not all the time but i do get them at least 4 times a month...my aps doctor said not to worry about them..so i don't
Hi.
I have a lot of nerve damage in my brain. Been diagnosed with mononeuropathia multiplex.
My pain is often stabbing.
Kind regards Tessan
I had excruciating head pain, like a hot knife deep in my brain above my right ear. Combined with migraine for around a week. I was under a lot of pressure at the time. Went to my gp every other day who prescribed me pills and an injection to dilate blood vessels (like an epipen to self administer). Then one morning in this episode I awoke with a stroke aged 31. CT scan showed little of interest. 8 years later other problems caused an mri which evidenced stroke in that area and many TIAs and for rhe firat time o was tested for APS. finally it was confirmed and I was started on warfarin. Still symptomatic when INR drops. Glad to have got an answer and treatment although it shouldn't have taken so many years!
That stabbing pain would, IME, mean an MRI cpuld be helpful.
