I have noticed that some of you take high doses of vitamin D, is it because of symptoms like SAD?

I have been diagnosed with APS, but when I get Drs. that disagree with this diagnosis, they put down hypersomnlence, sometimes I do get very sleepy, sometimes I have altered states of consiousness where I take a nap and then mentally wake,ie, I can hear what,s going on around me but cannot move, this happens equally in summer and winter, however, the funny turrns that I have a lot which I have had today, incredibly sleepy and wake with pins and needles or numbness in arms and hands, I believe this happens a lot more in winter, I used to put it down to the cold, but am making concious efforts to keep warm all the time and am wondering if this could be a vitimin D deficiancy. How would I find out?

The symptoms you describe are very familiar with me however I have them all year round . I'm on a high doseage vitamin D tablet as my levels were low, this is common in APS and other auto immune conditions.

Hi, donnabrain. Recently in the Gluten Summit, Prof. Yehuda Shoenfeld said that vitamin D may prevent cardiovascular incidents in patients with APS, as a preventive action. However would be important to have the concept of APS specialist.
