Help a brother out.

Guys a friend of mine asked me something..

He said lately he's been having an unhealthy skin and has been losing weight rapidly.

He said he last had sex with he hasn't had any sexual contact with anyone since last year around December and that the girl had a slight bleeding during that time. After sometime he developed a small rush or something like that on his privates. He'scerned that he might be infected with something.

I don't know what to tell cos I don't know much about infections. Can you guys help a brother out

Thanks

Sexually transmitted infections ( STI'S ) are common and easily picked up .

There is only one way for your friend to find out if this is what his problem is , and that is he needs to go for a sexual health screening at a clinic .

You can contact a doctor or Google your nearest clinic on the Internet .

This may be embarrassing , but remember the clinic staff are professionals , to them this is everyday .

Can these STIs be cured or only treated?

Depends what it is .

Some like HIV are managed . Others like Syphilis can be cured , and others like HepB can be cured or managed according to the individuals response to the virus .

Of course another possibility is that the illness may not be caused by an STI at all .

This is why the only way forward is to get tested .

We might add that HIV is managed very well and not considered to be life threatening if you adhere to medication which is usually one or a few pills once a day...
