Hi James,
I know how you feel.
When I was first told I was living with HIV it was still a terminal diagnosis. Now, although it is still life changing news, most of us should live just as long as anyone else.
You mentioned going to THT, have you checked out other Peer Support service? I know that The Brownlee Centre in Glasgow have a peer support service see: brownleehiv.org/brownlee-hi...
and Waverly Care also have a peer support service see: waverleycare.org/waverley_c...
There are some links on the following page that you might find useful too: forum-link.org/resources/so...
Some people also post messages on this community about finding others to meet up with. We don't have a huge number of members but, you never know.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Paul
Aw thank you very much for your reply just think it's a case of. Trying to get used to it and dealing with it. I know there's been a big change in hiv. With meds and livening your life normal. But it's still a reminder every morning takeing your meds you have it
James,
At 29 I had the same issues with taking pills every day, it seemed that I had reached a milestone in the slow decline into old age. Those pills - for my stomach, I was producing too much acid. It was years before I became infected.
All the best
PD.

yes i think this guy is right Jamesi.x
Hey James, I hope you're doing ok. I think we all remember the first feelings after we'd been diagnosed. I'm only a few years in - I found my first year was full of ups and downs, especially at night time, but th following year it started to calm down and now I'm more accepting of it. For me it took time so allow yourself that time, but everyone's is different. What you should know is that you are not alone and thanks to amazing treatments we can all live very healthy lives!!! Take care mate and message should you want to..
James don't beat your self up I will get better if took me some time to come to terms with the condition
Meds are so good you will just wake up one days and not even think about your condition
So get out enjoy life and keep smiling my friend
Take care
Rob
