Taking expired HIV meds

i recently found out that i’ve been taking expired arv meds… their expiration date was june 2023 and i started taking that batch already on october 2023 up until november 15 2023. it was a complete mess up on my end because i’ve mistaken my expired meds with the good ones, i quickly replenished it with the nonexpired meds, ill be taking them tonight november 16, 2023. Should i be worried?

Hi , my view is there is nothing to worry about . There is always a wide safety margin on dates and medicines can remain effective years after expirey date .I recently used pain killers 13 years out of date and they worked just fine !

I really don’t think that you have anything to worry about. As Griffon said the expiry date is generally just a guideline.

I agree, they will be fine! Over my 30+ years of taking ARVs (from the very first one!) you will be ok. Just keep to your regular time(s) for medicating x
